One of the most convenient aspects of video content is its portability and ease of access on mobile apps; which is why over 75% of videos are played on mobile devices.

With the development of smartphones over the last two decades, it has likely been one of the driving factors behind video’s massive growth as more consumers use social media platforms as places to consume content and access news.

While online video ads are one of the most effective formats of advertising, the interruption factor on platforms like YouTube, where ads are shown before, during, or after they watch a video, leads to a level of frustration.

This is why 65% of consumers skip online video ads, and why it’s so important to make the first 5 seconds of your video ads as captivating and engaging as possible to maximise watch time and conversions.

In January 2021, there were 4.66 billion internet users across the world.

While that figure will have grown over the last 15 months, comparing it with the prediction that 3.5 billion of those users will be consuming video content by 2023 shows that by next year, 44.3% of the world’s population will be consuming video content.

With so many people accessing video, can businesses really afford not to invest in video marketing?

Another great thing about video is that it’s memorable.

While 80% of users can recall seeing videos within 30 days of viewing them, I’d wager that there are many users that, if asked, would be able to recall seeing a video a few months or even up to a year after seeing it.

It’s not just the video as a whole that is memorable, but the messaging too, with over 95% of viewers retaining a video’s message.

#9 – 71% of B2B Marketers and 66% of B2C marketers use video marketing

The video content and platforms that B2B and B2C marketers use will differ massively - with B2B marketers primarily using LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, while B2C will likely opt for TikTok, Facebook and Instagram - which is a clear indication that no matter what your business does, there’s a platform out there that can help you reach your target audience through with engaging video content that they want to see!
